Today class started with Dr. Norasykin at the helm of the lessons. Dr. Zaidatun came in a bit later as she had some urgent work to tend to. Dr. Nora introduced to the basics of creating a webpage/website using the dreamweaver. While she was teaching, two students of Prof. Zaidatun was helping to install an app on our smartphones and ipad/tabs. The apps introduced about static and dynamic website. Meanwhile the other app showed the panels and functions in the dreamweaver. The app was useful as it showed the panels and the function in the apps as well as explaining about static and dynamic websites.
After that, when Prof Zaidatun came in, she gave us a few worksheets to look into,especially in dreamweaver and also a few tasks which included installing IIs in our computers. Despite the "how to do notes " did not cover for windows 7, but by using the instructions given for windows vista i managed to install it and help my other friends install it too. While trying out some of the tasks given by Prof Zaidatun , indirectly i managed to learn some of the basics of dreamweaver. Meanwhile when i had some problems, i was able to ask the other students via facebook. Their response was very helpful and with the help of the mediator students, the process went smoothly. I also managed to complete the database task given on time, and i cant wait to see what we have for the next lesson.

2ND CLASS -17 FEBRUARY 2014

LECTURE 2
Today's lesson was the first day we met Dr. Zaidatun. She was explaining thoroughly about the class overview. Including the Facebook group (Facebooking authoring system together)
Some of the interesting new facts that i learnt today was:-
streaming - watch while it downloads
We also looked into the difference between dynamic and static webs.
Examples of dynamic web :- facebook, (those days)friendster, twitter
Examples of static webpages: webpages that potray informations and photos or video. no two way interaction
Besides that we learned about PHP and ASP. Both are programming languages used to create websites.
ASP - Active Server Pages, runs on Microsoft along side IIS(Internet Information Server) and uses access as database
PHP- Hypertext Preprocessor, can also run on windows,solaris,unix and linux, runs on Apache server and uses Mysql as database

TODAY WAS THE FIRST LESSON FOR " AUTHORING SYSTEM" .
IT WAS AN EYE OPENING EXPERIENCE, AS I WAS INTRODUCED TO THE INTERESTING LESSON OVERVIEW.
I AM VERY EXCITED TO LEARN AND RE-LEARN ABOUT DREAMWEAVER AND FLASH. THE LAST I LEARNED ABOUT DREAMWEAVER AND FLASH WAS BACK IN 2000 AND 2001.
I REALLY HOPE I CAN LEARN MORE AND NEWER ASPECTS ABOUT THESE PROGRAMS AS THEY CAN BE A USEFUL TOOL FOR ME AS A TEACHER AND ALSO TO TEACH OTHER TEACHERS ONE DAY.
